Thanksgiving 2024 in SLO

This Thanksgiving in San Luis Obispo, get ready to feast at Luna Red. We’re rolling out a Thanksgiving Buffet with plenty of diverse options —perfect for those who love classic dishes and those who like to spice things up!

Savor the comforting classics like slow-roasted turkey with all the trimmings, or dive into our mouthwatering slow-roasted prime rib. For the non-traditionalists, we’ve got bacon-wrapped dates, elote 'ribs', made-to-order taco bar, and a chilled shellfish station with snow crab clusters and jumbo shrimp cocktail.

Our buffet has multiple options for our vegan and vegetarian friends as well, featuring a tortilla soup bar, a vibrant Mediterranean display, and a delicious market vegetable paella with house-made soy-rizo.

Booking Policy

1. Mandatory Service Charge/Gratuity:

We could not pull of this special Holiday Experience off without our dedicated team. All parties will be charged an 18% Mandatory Service Charge and applicable local and state taxes. 100% of this service charge will be shared among the hourly team members involved in your experience in the form of a gratuity. Any additional voluntary gratuity left at the table goes directly to your tableside server.  

2. Adding Guests to your confirmed reservation:  

We will do our best to accommodate change requests to your guest count as we approach Thanksgiving. However, it is incredibly important to note that we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate more than the original reservation number. Additional guests who show up on the day of your reservation will likely not be able to be seated, without consent from the restaurant.

3. Keeping things Running on Time: 

Please make sure all guests are on time for your reservation. We allow 1 hour and 45 minutes at the table (reservations are taken 2 hours apart for each table). This timeline begins at the START TIME of your reservation as your table is reserved for another group 2 hours later. We will not be able to extend the time at the table for the guests that are late. Please allow ample travel time and time to find parking when requesting your reservation.

5. To-Go Boxes will NOT be offered, under any circumstances. Please ensure your entire party is aware. 

Additionally, We are a sustainably certified operation and certified ocean friendly restaurant. We do ask that you be mindful of your portions- we would rather you go back for seconds or thirds than waste food. 

 6. Requests for Table Location:

We cannot guarantee or take requests for table location, including any preferences for indoor or outdoor seating. We will not be able to guarantee where your table will be, as it will change several times throughout service. Over the years, we have come to find that we need this flexibility on this particular holiday to make for a smooth service and provide the best experience for all of our guests. Roughly 30% of our seating is indoors and 70% is outdoors. In the event of rain, we will tent our patio.

7. Cancellation Policy:

We will require a credit card to hold your reservation, and we will assess a $25 per person non-refundable cancellation/no show fee under any of the following circumstances:

1. You cancel within 48 hours of your reservation.

2. You do not show up for your reservation.

3. You arrive with fewer guests than reserved for (for example you reserve for 14 guests but only 10 show up. A $25 per person fee will be assessed for the 4 missing guests).

**We ask that any guest count reductions be made no less than 48 hours prior to your reservation time in order to avoid this fee.

In short, it is very easy to avoid this fee. Be realistic and honest with your guest count and communicate with us as soon as you know if something changes. This is a very busy weekend/Holiday in San Luis Obispo and there are many families left without a place to celebrate. This cancellation policy is meant to encourage you to communicate your plans with us in advance so we can accommodate those families.
